Mezze Za Za.

Brand Strategy and Identity, TOV, Illustrations, Packaging and POS Design, Signage Design, Brand Guidelines and Brand Guardianship.

Airport Retail Enterprises tasked TNG to develop a distinctive identity for their new Mediterranean restaurant at Brisbane Domestic Airport.

To cut-through in this busy space, we needed to deliver desirability to both the eye and taste buds. We wanted Mezze Za Za’s customers to feel like the journey has already started - with a warm, welcoming, delicious and memorable experience.

In the visual language, we use across the Mezze Za Za brand, we harness the fuzzy feelings associated with a trip to the Med and give it subtle Australian context. We also reference Mediterranean mythology - the lives and activities of deities, heroes, and mythological creatures, and the origins and significance of the ancient Mediterranean cult and ritual practices.

We love the idea of a quick and enjoyable feast being part of a Brisbane Airport traveller’s ritual – and the visual narrative we have formulated for this brand idea reflects this – encouraging customers to dine on a feast of Mediterranean delights featuring the freshest seafood from local waters and quality Australian meats, all the while enjoying the light-hearted and optimistic iconography inspired by the Med itself.
